The 6 Kingdoms of the dragon world come from an ancient myth, which only the Kings and Queens themselves are old enough to remember...
Thousands of years ago, there was a single kingdom of Drakons and Dragons of all shapes and sizes. There were the ones from the myths of Asia, long and snake-like with giant wings and beautiful bodies. Those from the Greek Myths, of all types, some with multiple heads or tails or eyes or legs. There were those from Egyptian Myths, with the long bodies and animal heads, and every other kind of Dragon, Drakon, or anything of the type you could think of. But there was only one Royal family, and they were made up of the Chinese dragons. There were other of the kind, of course. The first of the royal family were two dragons were Du and Gwyn, Black and White(Welsh).
Du and Gwyn were the rulers of a large kingdom of dragons, which was peaceful and strong. Dragons of all kinds were cared for and accepted, from the water dwellers to the air dragons. The kingdom prospered for the longest time, until Du and Gwyn, known as the White Queen and the Black King, had six children for their kingdom to be passed on to. The new princes and princesses were three of each gender. The first prince was an exact replica of his father, Du the Black King, known as Nos. The first princess was an exact replica of her mother, Gwyn the White Queen, known as Dydd. The second prince was named Water, for his pelt resembled the ocean which gave them life. The second princess was Fire, for hers was as golden as the fire which came from her mouth. The third prince was named Air for his scales, which were grey as the clouds that he flew by each day. The final princess was Earth for her brownness, which was so like the soil from which their healing herbs grew. Each was different from all the others, and they got greedy and power hungry. They fought a horrible battle, and thousands of dragons died.
In the end, they split up into 4 Clans and 2 Kingdoms. The Life Kingdom, led by the Life Queen, Dydd. The Death Kingdom, led by the Death King, Nos. The Earth Clan, led by the Earth Queen. The Water Clan, led by the Water King. The Fire Clan, led by the Fire Queen. And finally, The Air Clan, led by the Air King. Upon seeing their Kingdom torn apart by their children, the White Queen and the Black King became depressed, and were separated into the kingdoms of Life and Death respectively. They both died on the first night out of sadness from their separation and the destruction of their kingdom. The 6 now prosper on their own, living as if they were never one.
The Life Kingdom- The Life Kingdom is led by Dydd the Life Queen, and generally hates the Death Kingdom very much. They are great healers and fighters, and are trained to manipulate life and torture prisoners.
The Death Kingdom-The Death Kingdom is led by Nos the Death King, and generally hates the Life Kingdom as much as the Life Kingdom hates them. They are great fighters and are trained to kill.
The Earth Clan-Led by the Earth Queen, the Earth Clan is the clan of stubborness and strength. They live underground all around all the Drakon Clan territories, and in a large cave complex. They are able to see well in the dark and have long and sharp claws for digging. They generally hate the Water Clan the most, and fear the Fire Clan the most.
The Fire Clan-Led by the Fire Queen, the Fire Clan is the clan of pride and cunningness. They live next to the volcano, and are immune to fire.They generally hate the Air Clan the most, and fear the Water clan the most.
The Water Clan-Led by the Water King, the Water Clan is the clan of Change and power. They live underwater, and are able to breathe and see just fine there. They generally hate the Earth Clan the most, and fear the Air Clan the most.
The Air Clan- Led by the Air King, the Air Clan is the clan of freedom. They live on the highest of mountain peaks, and are all given wings. They generally hate the Fire Clan the most, and fear the Earth Clan the most.
Facts:
-Dragons and Drakons are immortal unless killed by disease or battle.
-Since they are almost god-like, genetics do not count for Dragons. Siblings or relatives could have children without problem.
-Children of Dragons do not gain any powers at birth. If their parents are, for example, a water dragon and a fire dragon, the child could be either a fire or a water dragon, not both, or a combination. One or the other.
-Dragons can vary in appearance. They don't nessecarily look anything like their parents.
-Dragons can eat either meat or plants. Plants are typically not favored, and are more commonly used for healing.
Rules of all the Clans and Kingdoms(Rules for specific Kingdoms may apply):
-Mating in between Clans/Kingdoms is NOT allowed by Kingdom law. (If you decide to break this rule, children typically go to the clan of the dragon that birthed them.)
-Healers are not to leave territory of the Kingdom unless absolutely necessary. Leaving territory is usually a declaration of war.
-No stealing from other Kingdoms (Without Leader's permission)
-Leader's word is law.
