The magic types of Aarigyl can be learned by any dragon, with proper training. However, it can be harder for some types of dragons to learn certain types of magics. For example, it would be very hard for a Life Dragon to master Death Magic. Same goes for Fire Dragons trying to learn Water Magic, and Air Dragons trying to learn Earth Magic, and vice versa. Dragons are able to master multiple types of Magic, but it takes longer to learn each magic one tries to learn. Most dragons die by the time they finish learning 3. It is said that the first dragon to learn all 6 types became a holder of a new kind of power, though his fate was unknown. He was known as 'The Jade Warrior', and all The Kingdoms rush to train mages as fast as possible in order to create a new 'Jade Warrior' to fight for them.
The Types of magic are divided into 6 Classes, and 3 sub-classes. The classes are the element they control, and the Sub-classes are the purpose they serve to the user.
Classes of Magic:
Life Magic-
Life Magic is the magic that manipulates and controls Life. This type of Magic is best suited for Healing and Scribe-type Sub-classes, due to the burdens of using this Type of magic being great, similar to Death Magic. Life Magic is a forbidden Magic in most Kingdoms, due to it's Occult-like rituals, required to make it work at full potential. Some of the powers of Life Magic include switching bodies, controlling certain dragons as puppets, and granting souls to inanimate objects, bringing them to life, and many more. There is also the grand Life Magic power of being able to bring back the dead. However, each of these powers come with intense drawbacks, so they are only used when most needed, except small powers.
The source of Life Magic is a massive White Cherry Blossom Tree, which is thousands of years old, and is the symbol of The Life Kingdom. This White Cherry Blossom exists in the deepest underground place in The Life Kingdom, below The Life Castle, in a massive underground spring. Powerful Ranking Dragons are the only ones to ever lay their eyes on this tree, due to it's importance. It's a rite of passage, one of the three trials of The Life Kingdom, to becoming a high ranking dragon, to drink from the spring that surrounds The White Cherry Blossom. It's said to grant one exceptional Magical Power.
Death Magic-
Death Magic is the Magic that controls the cycle of death. This type of Magic is best suited to the Fighting-type Sub-class, since it's a Destruction type of Magic, as it is an evolved form of Life and Fire Magics. Much like Life Magic, Death Magic is a magic that takes great tolls on it's user. Death Magic is generally used how it sounds, for creating death in the world. It can be used to kill just about anything, with enough practice, which makes it a useful fighting art in battle. Death Magic isn't good for hunting, since it chars the entire body of the one it kills when used. Death Magic centers around a strong mental tolerance, because it's scary to most when used, since it kills bloodily and mercilessly. It takes a very strong mind to use it.
The Source of Death Magic is the skull of the first 'Jade Warrior', who was a Death Dragon who created Death Magic from Life and Fire Magics combined. This skull is much larger than that of a normal dragon, and if kept on a heavily guarded display in the Death Castle.
Earth Magic-
Earth Magic is the Elemental Magic that controls the earth and rock. This type of Magic is best suited to the Fighting and Scribe-type Sub-Classes, since it's made up of dragons with large bodies and sturdy minds. Earth Magic is generally weaker than Death and Life Magic, but can be used more causally, since it takes less of a toll on the user. It can be used to move and bend the earth and land. It's known to be very useful in battle, because it can be used to crush enemies who remain near the ground.
The source of Earth Magic is a deep brown stone, which is smooth as a river rock, and tiny as a pebble, but is too heavy for any but the strongest of dragons to carry.
Water Magic-
Water Magic is the Elemental Magic with power over water. This type of Magic is best suited to the Healing-type Sub-class, since it's easy to move, and can be used by Healer-type dragons to heal at a much longer range than healer dragons of other elements. Water magic is good for slicing through stuff, especially when in ice form, for it is very sharp when manipulated correctly. It's useful for helping in battles in the water because it heals Water Magic users whenever they're in the water, though it's slow in doing so.
The source of Water Magic is an ancient crown, made of coral, which is the only thing that hints to the origins of the water-breathing dragons, which never known to have existed before they suddenly appeared in the records over 1,000,000 years ago, when the Old Kingdom was at it's prime and Gwyn and Du and their Children lived peacefully. It is said that the crown belonged to the ancient water dragons, who used to rule the sea, before discovering the land dragons and wishing to be part of a larger community. The crown is kept in the Underwater palace, where the Water King resides and wears it as his own.
Fire Magic-
Fire Magic controls the power of Fire and destruction. This type of magic is best suited to the Fighting-type Sub-Class, since it's similar to Death Magic in it's destruction tendencies. It's good for burning enemies when in battle, by catching them and their lungs on fire. It's also good at long ranges, because one can create a fireball to burn enemies from far away. It's also good for torturing prisoners, because higher level Fire Magic users are able to create a special flame that can cause pain but not kill someone.
The source of Fire Magic is a golden Sundial. It sits in the center of the capitol city of the Fire Kingdom, Petraal. It's said to be a gift from the goddess Oarel from the Gietta dragon religion, which is the most common religion in The Fire Kingdom. The Fire Kingdom uses this to tell the exact time, and they use it to gain energy and strength as the source of their power.
Air Magic-
Air Magic controls the air around the user. This type of Magic is best suited to the Scribe-Type Cub-Class, since it's a peaceful art until you reach the higher levels. Air Magic, in the highest of levels, can be used to take away the air surrounding an enemy, and used to simulate invisibility by blocking one's sight of a specific object. It's useful for tricking enemies, and hiding in order to attack. Air Magic can also be used to kill a person quickly and peacefully, by compressing their heart and making it stop.
The source of Air Magic is a lake, which exists in their inner territory, between two mountains. The lake is the oldest known thing in their territory, and is said to flow underground, providing the water needed for the White Cherry Blossom, which powers Life Magic in The Life Kingdom. Because of this, The Life and Air Kingdoms have always been on decent terms, which, in the middle of such a large-scale war, is simply leaving each other alone for the most part.
Sub-Classes of Magic:
Dragons can only learn 2 of the 3 classes for all the magics they learn. Even if a dragon were to learn all 6 types of magic, once they learned, for example, Scribe-Type Water Magic, and Healing-Type Earth Magic, that dragon would never be able to learn Fighting-type magic of any kind, or it would die from power excess. It is said that the Jade Warrior is able to learn all 3 types, making way for the strongest of powers.
The more type of magic dragons learn from the same class, the more skilled dragons become in that particular class. The very best of Scribe Dragons would know 4 types of Scribe Magic. Same goes for Healing and Fighting.
Fighting Type-
Fighting Type Dragons are built for combat entirely. They can grow longer claws, sharper teeth, and horns and spikes on their bodies for offensive attacks. Fighting Dragons who learn at least two types of Healing Magic are able to grow strong armor to cover their bodies, to protect them from physical attacks. Many dragons aspire to become Fighting Dragons for their kingdoms, since it's an overly-glorified role, since most rulers are Fighting-Type dragons. It's actually uncommon for Fighting-Type dragons to reach High ranks, since there's so many.
Healing Type-
Healing Type Dragons are a lot more common than Scribe Type, but are still scarce compared to Fighting Type. Healing Type Dragons are good for backup, and can heal multiple allies at long ranges, the long ranges being something that no others except Master Fighting Type dragons can do. Healing Type dragons have a bad disadvantage of not being able to heal themselves as much as allies, but are still very important to have, since they take less damage than any other type of dragon class. They can heal faster at closer ranges.
Scribe Type-
Not for use in combat. Scribe Dragons can create binding contracts, which, upon being signed by both parties, each side will be bound to their contract with their lives. Master Scribe dragons can also manipulate words to make it look like something different, sometimes tricking dragons into signing binding contracts. Scribe Dragons, due to their power, are greatly sought after by the Kingdoms, but are exceptionally rare, since they have little combat ability with this power. Scribe Dragons' power work best when good quality materials are used.
